Welcome to our photo gallery. Here you'll be able to browse old postcards and photographs of North Shields, Wallsend and Whitley Bay, and in some cases compare the views shown with the present day view. We are very grateful to Charlie Steel and Paul Whitelaw for making their extensive collection of old photos and postcards available to tynetown for display on the site and to Paul for taking the modern shots to compare against the old views.

We plan to keep on adding photographs over the next few months so keep checking back to see what's new.
